Accounting Manager
David Weekley Homes is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join the Accounting and Finance team at our Houston home office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Accounting, Team Member development, project management and leadership.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and develop a team of 4 to accomplish team objectives
- Oversee the month-end close process, produce timely and accurate financial statements
- Review journal entries, monthly reports and balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage the annual external Audit and quarterly Bond compliance
- Manage special projects and perform ad hoc analysis
- Set up accounting processes for new business initiatives
- Identify and drive process improvement, working with existing automation tools, and facilitate development of new tools
- Respond to questions from operations and senior management timely, providing a high level of support
- Four-year degree in Accounting, required
- At least 5 years of management experience in an Accounting field
- At least 3 years of financial analysis experience
- Strong technical skills and ability to pick up new things quickly
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite required
- Comfortable working with all levels of management
- Ability to recognize and adapt communication style to needs of recipient
- Strong commitment to provide superior customer service
- JDE and Essbase experience a plus
Work Location: This is an on-site position located at our headquarters near the intersection of I-10 Katy Freeway and 610 W Loop N Freeway.
