Coordinates afterschool programs (ASES, ELOP, Think Together) across PUC Schools' charter school network, partnering with school administrators and the Director of Compliance on programming, safety, attendance, and grant compliance. Drives professional development, data-informed practice, and operational alignment for academic, enrichment, and sports offerings.

Partnerships to Uplift Communities (PUC) Schools is a non-profit network of public charter schools designed to significantly increase high school graduation rates, college entrance, and college graduation rates for underserved students in North-East Los Angeles, and the North-East San Fernando Valley.

The Team Member we are searching for
The ideal Afterschool Program Coordinator believes in and is passionate about the mission and commitments of PUC Schools and exhibits this through their leadership, reflection, execution of school culture, and collaboration to ensure student success. This position will report to the Director of Compliance, which is part of the Office of the Chief Executive Officer at PUC Schools.
What you will need to accomplish:
Afterschool Program Vision & Strategic Partnerships:
- Coordinate and collaborate with the Director of Compliance to maintain the vision, mission, and compliance of all afterschool program offerings at PUC Schools (i.e., ASES, ELOP, Think Together, any other grant funded program)
- Coordinate and collaborate with school administrators to maintain the vision, mission, and compliance of after-school offerings by working collaboratively with the school administrators and site-based after-school coordinator(s) to uplift each school’s after-school program
- Coordinate and collaborate with professional afterschool program networks, outside of PUC Schools, to continuously learn and innovate in support of PUC Schools (i.e., CDE, CA Afterschool Network, CMO’s, etc.)
- Afterschool Program Planning:
- Coordinate, develop, and implement the three components of PUC Afterschool programming (i.e., Academics, Enrichment, & Sports) org-wide at each school by working collaboratively with school administrators and afterschool staff in support of each school’s offerings
- Coordinate, develop, and implement systems, communication, and oversight of all PUC Afterschool programming compliance (i.e., attendance, safety, food services, and any other compliance needs determined by org or fed/state compliance).
- Coordinate, develop, and implement a data informed practice to further the vision, mission, and priorities of the PUC Afterschool Program in all areas related to afterschool programming (i.e., Academic, Compliance, Enrichment, Sports, Staffing, and Professional Development)
- Coordinate school requests and/or needs by working collaboratively with supporting departments at PUC Schools or PUC National to maximize support, resources, and guidance to schools
- Coordinate, develop, and deliver professional development to afterschool staff based on org-wide priorities, after school program data, and/or school-based suggestions or school-based needs
Afterschool Program Culture:
- Coordinate, model, teach, and reinforce a safe, positive, and inclusive culture for all afterschool staff in support of each after school program’s services at a school in support of students, parents, school staff, and local community
- Coordinate, model, teach, and reinforce positive relationship building with students, parents, school staff, and local community
- Coordinate, model, teach, and reinforce a safe, positive, and inclusive after school culture by regularly observing each school’s program and providing school administrators and after school support staff with observations and/or recommendations related to the program culture
Afterschool Program Operations:
- Coordinate, model, teach, and reinforce a safe and compliant school operations for all afterschool staff in support of each after school program’s operations in support of students, parents, school staff, and local community (i.e., Afterschool Safety Drills, Mandated Reporting, Afterschool Incident Reporting, School Safety Procedures, etc.)
- Coordinate, model, teach, and reinforce after school program attendance and tracking procedures in support of school operations for all afterschool programs (i.e., supporting school adherence to after school attendance tracking and reporting procedures/reporting discrepancies)
- Coordinate and collaborate with school administrators and department leaders, under the guidance of PUC Compliance, on any school-based operational needs in support of each school’s afterschool program (i.e., Operations, Food Services, Facilities, Finance, Compliance, HR, etc.,)
Afterschool Program Finance:
- Coordinate and collaborate with the Director of Compliance on all finance sources, finance policies and procedures, and finance grants and audits related to PUC Afterschool Programs
- Coordinate and collaborate with school administrators on each schools after school program funding, attendance tracking tied to funding, and any general finance awareness needed per school to further the school’s fiscal management of afterschool programming
- Coordinate and collaborate with PUC Compliance, to further support finance policies and procedures and grant tracking based on financial independent audits related to afterschool programming
Afterschool Professional Leadership:
