Summary

Hands-on test engineer within BAE Systems' Air ERP Solution Factory, planning, executing and reporting on test activities for a complex ERP programme. Works with Xray and JIRA alongside developers, BAs and architects, blending manual and automated testing across sprints.

Location\: Warton, Hybrid, 3 days per week on site

Job Description\:

You'll be responsible for delivering hands-on testing activities within your assigned workstream, supporting the successful delivery of complex ERP projects through effective planning, execution and reporting of test activities.

Working alongside senior testers and project teams, you'll help drive quality, identify risks and contribute to continuous improvement across the testing function.

Core duties\:

  • Plan, execute and report on testing activities within your assigned workstream
  • Create and maintain test scripts within Xray
  • Support sprint testing activities to ensure timely delivery of project milestones
  • Identify, escalate and help resolve testing issues and blockers
  • Contribute to process improvements and share lessons learned across the wider test team

Essential Skills\:

  • Experience in a software testing or test engineering role
  • Understanding of software testing principles and methodologies
  • Knowledge of test management tools (JIRA)
  • Ability to translate business, functional and technical requirements into test scenarios
  • Experience creating and executing test scripts and test cases
  • Ability to identify, document and communicate defects and risks
