Assistant HR Manager, Operational Excellence & HRIS

The HR Assistant Manager, Operational Excellence & HRIS will support the continuous improvement of HR processes, service delivery, and digital enablement across Asia. The role focuses on identifying opportunities to simplify and standardize HR processes, enhance operational effectiveness, and support the adoption of digital solutions and expansion of our HR system capability to improve efficiency and employee experience.

Reporting to the Human Resources Director, Asia this individual will liaison and partner with the Global Director, HRIS and Process Improvement to ensure global alignment while championing regional needs. They will work closely with HR leaders, country HR teams, HRIS, HR operations, and other stakeholders to identify and coordinate improvement initiatives and help build scalable, data-driven HR practices across the region.

  • Support the identification, prioritization, and implementation of HR process improvement initiatives across Asia by applying continuous improvement methodologies and best practices.

  • Partner with HR leaders, country HR teams, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and optimize HR processes, enhancing operational efficiency and employee experience.

  • Coordinate regional HR operational excellence initiatives, ensuring effective execution, progress tracking, and sharing of best practices across countries.

  • Support HR digitalization initiatives by identifying opportunities for automation, process simplification, and improved utilization of HR technologies.

  • Ensure the region leverages Avient’s HR system, PeopleLink to its fullest by expanding system and tool use in the region. Partner with HR, HRIS, and external vendors (as needed) to support enhancements, implementation activities, and continuous improvement of HR systems and related processes.

  • Support HR managers in improving HR data quality, reporting, and dashboards, providing meaningful analytics and insights to support business and HR decision-making.

  • Assist in documenting HR processes, developing business cases, and recommending practical solutions that improve efficiency, scalability, and service delivery. Support adoption of new approaches and transition of work to HR Operations, where applicable.

  • Support governance of regional HR systems, including coordination of enhancement requests, testing, user communication, training, and change management activities, as the regional liaison to the global HRIS leader and team. Ensures alignment with global processes and approaches while championing regional needs.

  • Stay informed of external best practices and emerging technologies, recommending opportunities to enhance HR operations and digital capabilities.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Human Resources, or a related discipline.

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in HR Operations, process improvement, business process optimization, HRIS, business analytics, or Human Resources.

  • Proven experience supporting process improvement, digitalization, or operational excellence initiatives, preferably in a regional or multinational environment.

  • Experience coordinating cross-functional projects and collaborating effectively with HR, IT, business stakeholders, and external vendors.

  • Hands-on experience with HR systems (e.g., Oracle or other HRIS platforms) and supporting system enhancements or implementations is preferred.

  • Experience in HR reporting, data analysis, and dashboard development, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

  • Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) or project management practices is an advantage.

Skills and Certifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify improvement opportunities and recommend practical solutions.

  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies and continuous improvement principles; Lean Six Sigma certification or experience is preferred.

  • Good understanding of HR processes and the ability to identify opportunities for standardization, simplification, and operational efficiency.

  • Experience using HR systems (e.g., Oracle HCM) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with reporting or data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) is an advantage.

  • Effective project coordination and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within timelines.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across HR, IT, business functions, and external vendors.

  • Demonstrated learning agility and a continuous improvement mindset, with an interest in HR digitalization and emerging technologies.

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
