Assistant Manager(10393) - Alexandra Hospital
As a member of the Operational Finance team, you will be a key financial resource in supporting costing, pricing and finance systems-related responsibilities for the hospital. You will work closely with clinical, operational and finance stakeholders to develop and maintain costing analyses, support pricing reviews and subsidy/cost recovery assessments, and ensure finance system data and workflows remain accurate, reliable and fit for operational decision-making. You will also contribute to financial performance analysis, process improvements and cross-functional projects that strengthen financial governance and sustainability.
Job Responsibilities
- Support costing analyses for clinical services, programmes, procedures and initiatives, including review of cost drivers, cost allocation assumptions, activity volumes, subsidy impact and cost recovery position
- Prepare and maintain robust costing models, templates and datasets to support service pricing, fee revision proposals and benchmark comparisons for management decision-making
- Support stakeholders in evaluating the financial implications of new services, care models, workplans and operational changes, with clear recommendations on pricing, cost sustainability and financial risk considerations
- Support periodic pricing and subsidy reviews by analysing utilisation trends, revenue impact, affordability considerations, policy changes and alignment with institutional or cluster-level pricing principles
- Maintain finance systems master data, costing and pricing parameters, mappings, tables and workflow configurations to ensure completeness, accuracy and timely updates across relevant finance platforms
- Perform regular system checks, reconciliations and user acceptance testing to identify data issues, support system enhancements, and ensure finance system outputs remain aligned with approved policies and operational requirements
- Provide guidance to clinical and operational partners on costing, pricing, financial policies, workflows and system-related matters, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues
- Support finance transformation, billing, costing systemisation and subsidy-related implementation projects, including data preparation, testing, documentation, training and change management activities
- Any other ad-hoc duties
Job Requirements
- Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business, Economics or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in healthcare finance, costing, pricing, financial planning and analysis, or finance systems support
- Good understanding of costing principles, pricing analysis, cost recovery concepts and financial performance drivers
- Experience in finance systems maintenance, master data management, reconciliations, user acceptance testing or system enhancement projects will be an advantage
- Possess strong analytical, problem solving and data interpretation skills, with the ability to translate financial data into practical recommendations
- Organized, meticulous, resourceful, and able to work as a team as well as independently in a dynamic environment
- Resilient character and confidence in managing ambiguity, competing timelines and cross-functional stakeholder requirements
- Proficiency in SAP, billing or costing systems, MS Office applications and data visualization tools are added advantages
