Assistant Manager

At the Melt, we are continuing to grow and will be opening 2 New Restaurant Locations in Daly City and Downtown San Francisco and we are looking for highly experienced Restaurant Managers to include; District Managers, General Managers and Assistant General Managers who will be in an Assistant Manager role for one-year following completion of our formal MIT (Management Traiing Program of 6-8 weeks) to prepare them to step into a General Manager role to work Late-night Weekday & Weekend Closing shifts from until as late as 3:00am PT closing times from within the food service industry with a Fast Casual or Quick Service (QSR) brand, we want you to apply to explore joining our Team/Family! At The Melt, our compensation plan and benefits are better than our competitors (Including Assistant Managers earning and avergaging $450.00 in Tips every 4 week period. Candidates applying for this opportunity must be flexible and willing to work Post-training in both Daly City and our downtown San Francisco locations.

These roles require working late nights including on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in restaurants open till 3:00am.

Position Descriptions

Title: Assistant Managers Report To: General Manager - These roles are members of the restaurant management team.

Each role works together to operate the overall operations of the restaurant.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Leads Crew Team

  • Leads and directs Crew shifts acting as manager-in-charge of store
  • Coaches, counsels and directs Crew Members
  • Ensures a positive team environment and maintains a calm professional demeanor always
  • Creates a positive learning environment by providing clear, specific, timely, and respectful coaching and feedback to Crew to ensure operational excellence and to improve Crew performance
  • Participates in the staff planning, interviewing and hiring process for new Crew Members

Leads Service Excellence

  • Ensures “I Love It Here” experience for every guest
  • Ensure standards are consistently met for speed of service, order accuracy, product quality, and store cleanliness
  • Handles problem resolution with composure while living The Melt values
  • Inspires, motivates, and coaches Crew Members to their very best performance

Leads Profitable Operations

  • Executes opening and closing duties – opening shift, shift change, and closing shift procedures.
  • Ensures food quality, food safety and store cleanliness.
  • Follows all health, safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Manages shift schedules and utilizes deployment tools to maximize shift performance.
  • Manages inventory needs by ordering, receiving and storing items according to procedures.
  • Follows cash management and cash register policies and ensures all Crew always follow procedures.

Qualifications

  • Must be Happy and Positive with a collaborative leadership style.
  • Must have at least 3-4 years of General Manager, Assistant Manager or Shift Manager experience within The Fast Casual, QSR or Mid-Scale Casual Dining segment.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to learn quickly and the leadership skills to build and be part of a team.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have exceptional work ethic.
  • Must be 18 to apply

  • Must develop and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to learn quickly and to work as part of a team.

Reports To: General Manager

As a primary management team member, the Assistant Manager works directly with the General Manager in the overall operations of the store. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Assistant Manager acts as store leader in the absence of the General Manager.
