Associate Legal Counsel

What to expect:
- Provide administrative support to the legal department as the primary function of the role, including managing signing processes, task distribution processes, policies and online legal tools.
- Support the department's knowledge management needs, including creating and maintaining precedent databases, contract templates and departmental procedures that facilitate legal operations while upholding internal controls and stakeholder involvement.
- Review basic contracts with existing and potential merchants and suppliers, and assist with the drafting of various correspondence.
- Undertake a range of research projects, including international regulatory research and contractual matters, to support the wider legal team.
To be successful you need to have:
- Degree in legal science, commercial law or a related field
- 1–2 years of experience in an internationally active law firm or corporate legal department, with exposure to commercial and contractual matters and an interest in legal operations, process management and departmental administration (experience in financial services or e-commerce is an advantage).
- Strong organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage signing processes, task distribution, policies and online legal tools
- Solid drafting and communication skills in English, with the ability to review basic contracts and prepare correspondence independently.
- Proficiency in MS Office and confidence in using online legal and workflow tools.
- A collaborative, detail-oriented approach, with the ability to work effectively within a busy legal team and support colleagues across multiple jurisdictions.
