What you’ll do

Lead the Solution Architecture function for Vodafone Financial Services, acting as the technology authority across fintech products including payments, cards, tokenization, soft POS, BNPL, savings, insurance, and settlement & reconciliation. Responsible for defining architecture strategy, leading a team of solution architects, designing scalable microservices-based solutions, aligning technology roadmaps with business and Vodafone Group objectives, governing architecture standards, and ensuring successful delivery of secure, resilient, and innovative fintech platforms.

Who you are

• Managing a group of architects in the financial services domain.
• Act as architecture and design authority across fintech products in IT organization.
• Leading Solution Architect team for all Vodafone financial services.
• Responsible for designing full-fledged solutions for the following services: cards, tokenization, soft POS, payments, settlement & reconciliation, BNPL, savings & insurance.
• Responsible for aligning fintech and IT roadmaps with group strategy and guidelines.
• In charge of resolving technology disagreements among different IT teams.
• Responsible for auditing and reviewing IT processes and solutions.
• Instruct and follow up on delivery teams to modify them according to IT strategy.
• Lead design for major business and technology projects across IT and fintech in a way that directly impacts revenue, cost-saving initiatives, and NPS.
• Translate business requirements into technology requirements.
• Lead Vodafone Group activities that require cooperation with Group Architecture Team(s) and adapt Vodafone Group products and services related architecture initiatives within Vodafone Egypt in a way that suits local targets and strategies.
• Manage business requirements planning to ensure they are reflected into technology enablers to be implemented by delivery teams to realize overall business objectives.
• Authorized to take necessary decisions to resolve technical conflicts among different delivery functions.
• Lead technical stakeholders to produce system roadmaps that meet architecture guidelines and business requirements.
• Develop detailed programming instructions to solve business problems through automation support.
• Craft the code standards for our products.
• Use modern software architecture techniques and technologies to design and develop distributed, fault-tolerant solutions.
• Create and maintain architecture documents.
• Provide technical guidance to development teams.
• Build fintech platforms and make use of microservices architecture.

What's in it for you

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

• Engineering or computer science bachelor degree.
• Engineering master degree is a plus.
• At least 7+ years technical experience in IT.
• Fintech and payments experience.
• Hands-on knowledge of microservices, big data technologies, containers, API designing and implementation.
• Software engineering and design patterns.
• Microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Proven business acumen and solid business analysis skills.
• Must have worked in at least two different technology areas before.
• Vendor background is a plus.
• Solid development and database knowledge.

Must have technical and professional qualifications:

• Strong decision making and leadership capabilities.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Helicopter view identifying key information and patterns.
• Innovativeness and ability to generate viable alternatives out of challenging situations.
• Proven ability to work in virtual teams.
