Associate Network Engineer
Job Description
This role will be based at client site. Associate Network Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining mission-critical Wireless network infrastructure. The role involves troubleshooting, maintenance, incident response, preventive maintenance, implementation activities, vendor coordination, and support for large-scale wireless environments operating in a 24/7 environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day operations of wireless infrastructure including Cisco Wireless solutions, Aruba solutions, switches, firewalls, captive portals, and authentication systems.
- Perform troubleshooting for Wireless connectivity issues, DNS, DHCP, captive portal access, OTP login issues, VLAN routing, authentication failures, and internet access problems.
- Manage service technical escalations and support major incident troubleshooting during service disruptions.
- Support preventive maintenance, firmware upgrades, patching, and technology refresh activities for wireless and network infrastructure.
- Support WLC upgrade activities including Access Point image updates, failover testing, rollback planning, and validation activities.
- Work closely with vendor TAC such as Cisco TAC and Aruba TAC for issue analysis and problem resolution.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and prepare incident reports, technical findings, and preventive recommendations.
- Support implementation activities including Access Point deployment, switch replacement, firewall migration, SSL certificate updates, and network migrations.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, vendors, contractors, and facility management teams during maintenance and implementation activities.
- Support testing activities such as congestion testing, failover testing, WiFi roaming optimization, and POE/network validation.
- Monitor infrastructure health using tools such as Catalyst Center, AirWave, SevOne, LogicMonitor, NetAlly.
- Fluent in ITSM Incident, Change Management, Service Request platforms such as ServiceNow.
- Maintain technical documentation including install plans, diagrams, inventory records, validation evidence, and maintenance reports.
- Support after-office-hour maintenance windows, standby support, and emergency troubleshooting activities.
- Ensure compliance with operational governance, safety requirements, and change management procedures.
Qualifications
- Diploma, Higher NITEC, or equivalent qualification in IT or related discipline.
- Basic knowledge of networking, WiFi, internet connectivity, and endpoint devices.
- Experience in Service Desk, Helpdesk, NOC, or customer support environments preferred.
- Good communication, coordination, and customer service skills.
Familiarity with ServiceNow or ITSM ticketing systems is advantageous.
Work Arrangement
- Onsite support role
- May require standby support, shift work, and after-office-hour maintenance activities depending on operational requirements.
