Audio/Video Equipment Manager – Freelance

Job Description

We are looking for a Medior Audio/Video Equipment Manager to join a technical equipment lending team in Brussels. You will be responsible for managing a wide range of audio, video and IT equipment, ensuring that colleagues receive the right equipment in good working condition and that requests are handled efficiently and professionally.

The role combines equipment management, customer service, quality control and troubleshooting. You will work in a structured but dynamic environment where urgent and time-sensitive requests may require flexibility and quick decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain a wide range of audio, video and IT equipment.
  • Process equipment requests and verify the quality and completeness of requests and deliveries.
  • Communicate with users to clarify requirements and propose suitable alternatives when necessary.
  • Coordinate the availability, allocation and return of equipment.
  • Investigate equipment defects and coordinate repairs and follow-up.
  • Perform basic quality checks on equipment before and after use.
  • Maintain accurate equipment and stock records using relevant management systems.
  • Support the efficient use of equipment through structured and proactive asset management.
  • Provide friendly, professional and assertive support to internal users, both by phone and email.
  • Work closely with colleagues and share feedback, recommendations and improvement suggestions.
  • Remain calm and solution-oriented when handling urgent or time-critical requests.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, electromechanics, electronics or a related technical environment.
  • Higher secondary education or equivalent experience, preferably in electronics, electricity or electromechanics.
  • Demonstrable experience working with audio equipment.
  • Demonstrable experience working with video equipment.
  • Experience with equipment repairs and accessories.
  • Basic knowledge of audio/video technology and a willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Structured, accurate and organized approach to work.
  • Strong customer-service orientation and proactive mindset.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with users.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
  • Ability to remain flexible and composed under pressure.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with stock management or asset management software.
  • Experience with video production lighting equipment.
  • Experience in technical equipment lending, warehouse or inventory environments.

Language

  • Dutch: C2 / native-level proficiency is required.
  • Knowledge of English is an advantage.

Working Arrangement

  • Location: Brussels, Belgium
  • Work regime: Full-time; a part-time option may also be available depending on the assignment.
  • Contract: Freelance assignment through an intermediary.
  • Initial duration: 12 months, with potential extensions subject to agreement.
  • Work environment: On-site equipment management with flexibility depending on operational requirements.
