About the project
Our client is an innovative health-tech startup developing a medical device and digital ecosystem focused on improving physical wellness. The engineering team is responsible for the cloud infrastructure, backend services, databases, and mobile applications supporting the product and its integrations with external platforms.
We are looking for an AWS Cloud & Database Engineer
The role will focus on maintaining and improving the reliability, scalability, security, and performance of the infrastructure, as well as supporting ongoing production operations.
Experience with AWS infrastructure, including but not limited to VPC, Security, Cognito, API Gateway, and Lambda.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS
- Experience with AWS infrastructure, including services such as VPC, Security, Cognito, API Gateway, and Lambda
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL, including database administration, performance tuning, and optimization
- Experience with Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code tools
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure, monitoring, scalability, and security
- Experience troubleshooting production systems and resolving infrastructure/database issues
- Good understanding of CI/CD and modern cloud development practices
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a distributed engineering team
- Experience with Golang
- Experience with Snowflake or other data platforms
- AWS Certification
- Experience integrating cloud services with external platforms
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain AWS infrastructure and cloud services, including VPC, Security, Cognito, API Gateway, Lambda, and related services
- Administer, optimize, and troubleshoot PostgreSQL databases
- Improve system scalability, performance, reliability, and security
- Maintain infrastructure using Terraform
- Implement and improve monitoring, logging, and alerting
- Troubleshoot production and infrastructure issues and provide ongoing system support
- Identify opportunities to improve cloud infrastructure and database operations
- Collaborate closely with the Cloud/Backend team on technical solutions and integrations
- Support the team during releases, demos, and critical production incidents when required
- Strong overlap with the US-based engineering team is required, including availability until 12 PM PT
- Occasional additional availability may be required during releases, demos, or critical production incidents
- The role is best suited to candidates located within a time zone that allows for comfortable overlap with the US team
