  • 12 + 12 + 12-month contract - October Start
  • NV1 Security Clearance required

  • EL1 equivalent | Azure | Terraform | Databricks | DevOps | IaC

Our client, a federal government department who support Australia’s agricultural exports and manage biosecurity risks to protect our agricultural industries and way of life, is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Platform Engineer.

Duties of the Azure Cloud Platform Engineer

  • Design, develop and implement Azure cloud infrastructure supporting data and analytics workloads;
  • Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC);
  • Administer and support Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Web Apps and Logic Apps;
  • Configure and manage Azure networking, identity, access management and security policies;
  • Develop and maintain cloud platforms across IaaS, PaaS and SaaS environments;
  • Support the delivery and administration of Databricks, Microsoft Fabric and other analytics services;
  • Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to gather requirements and develop Data, Analytics and AI solutions;
  • Work within multidisciplinary Agile teams to deliver cloud and data-focused projects.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Experience designing, building and maintaining cloud‑hosted platforms and services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS);
  • Experience developing, implementing, and supporting cloud infrastructure using an infrastructure‑as‑code (IaC) approach;
  • Understanding of cloud security features for platforms and services such as Identity and Access Management, Networking and Policy;
  • Experience working on Data and Analytics focused projects (Data Engineering, Storage or Data Science).

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working with Data Lake solutions;
  • Experience working with Geospatial platforms;
  • Experience in Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) and Large Language Model Operations (LLMOps);
  • Delivery and/or administration experience with traditional data technology solutions.
