Backend Developer

The Backend Developer is responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing the server-side components of our social media application. This role involves managing databases, creating APIs, and ensuring that systems are scalable, secure, and efficient. The Backend Developer will work closely with frontend developers, product managers, and UI/UX designers to deliver seamless, high-performing solutions that align with the company’s objectives.

This is a hybrid role based in Ghana
Duties:
- Develop and maintain all server-side logic, databases, and APIs.
- Ensure high performance and responsiveness to requests from the frontend.
- Implement data storage solutions (SQL and NoSQL databases).
- Design and implement security and data protection measures.
- Integrate with third-party web services and APIs.
Requirements
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Proficiency in one or more backend languages (e.g., Python, Java, Node.js, Ruby, PHP, Go).
- Proficient in Kotlin
- Experience with database management (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
- Understanding of RESTful API design and development.
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of microservices architecture.
