Backend Engineer (Node.js)
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js and/or Python
- Build and enhance RESTful APIs with a focus on performance, security, scalability, and maintainability
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Frontend Engineers, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following engineering best practices
- Develop unit and integration tests while supporting automated testing initiatives
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement timely fixes to ensure application reliability
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support application deployment, monitoring, and operations within cloud and containerized environments
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
- Min. 4 years of working experience developing backend applications using Node.js and/or Python
- Good understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Git
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices
- Exposure to AWS cloud services; experience with Terraform would be advantageous
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
