Job Description

Purpose of the role

To drive the success of the commercial banking segment through market analysis, product development, sales and relationship management, risk management, and performance.

Accountabilities

  • Execution of market research to understand the competitive landscape, identify market trends and opportunities, and develop strategies to capture market share within the commercial banking segment, taking into consideration industry, size, and growth stage.
  • Development of appropriate pricing models for different products and services, ensuring profitability while remaining competitive in the market.
  • Development, implementation and management of innovative financial solutions, services and products aligned to the banks objectives and are tailored to the commercial banking segment, including loan products, cash management solutions, and trade finance services.
  • Identification and forging of strategic partnerships with other financial institutions, technology providers, or industry experts to expand product offerings and reach new client segments.
  • Management of key stakeholder relationships within target companies to understand their needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Development and implementation of sales strategies including the establishment of sales targets, identification of sales channels to reach potential clients and objectives for loan terms to support the negotiation process and development of service agreements.
  • Monitoring of key leading and lagging metrics such as new client acquisition, loan volume, revenue generation, and market share to assess the performance of the commercial banking segment. Funnel and journey optimisation are key to delivery of service and commercial performance.

Joining in as "UK Commercial Manager - BA4", the role will manage and process day-to-day procurement, payment and contractor administration activity across Coupa, Coupa Pay, SAP Fieldglass and related systems. The role will ensure requests are raised accurately, approvals are progressed, payments are tracked, and contractor onboarding, extensions and exits are managed in line with business policy and control requirements.

To be successful as a "UK Commercial Manager - BA4", you should have experience with:

Key responsibilities

  • Process and manage Coupa requests, including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, changes and approvals.
  • Support Coupa Pay activity, including invoice queries, payment tracking and issue resolution.
  • Manage SAP Fieldglass activity for contractors, including onboarding, extensions, rate changes, timesheet queries and offboarding.
  • Act as the key point of contact for contractor and supplier administration queries.
  • Ensure procurement and contractor records are accurate, complete and maintained in line with internal controls.
  • Track open requests, approvals and payment issues, escalating risks or delays where required.
  • Work closely with Finance, Procurement, Hiring Managers, HR and suppliers to resolve queries quickly.
  • Support reporting on contractor spend, purchase order status, overdue approvals and outstanding payments.
  • Identify process improvements to reduce delays, improve compliance and strengthen governance.

Critical skills and experience

  • Strong working knowledge of Coupa, including requisitions, purchase orders, approvals and supplier queries.
  • Experience using Coupa Pay or similar payment and invoice management processes.
  • Experience managing contractors through SAP Fieldglass, including onboarding, extensions and offboarding.
  • Good understanding of procurement, purchase order, invoicing and payment processes.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage data accurately across multiple systems.
  • Confident stakeholder management skills, with the ability to chase, escalate and resolve issues.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple requests, deadlines and priorities.
  • Good understanding of risk, controls and compliance in a corporate environment.
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems and keep activity moving without close supervision.
  • Strong Excel and reporting capability to track requests, spend, payments and contractor activity.
