UCT is looking for a talented Benefits Analyst to join us in Penang, Malaysia!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the day-to-day administration of Asia-Pacific (APAC) region employee benefit plans and programs and assist employees with benefit inquiries or issues, escalating matters to vendors or service providers when required.
- Conduct new hire benefits orientation sessions, both in-person and virtually as needed.
- Assist with any benefits enrollment process as needed. This includes conducting on-site and/or virtual employee briefings.
- In consultation with the Manager, Global Benefits update relevant materials including the company intranet, employee communications and presentations, coordinating updates with vendors, insurers, and service providers, and ensuring employee benefit information is communicated effectively.
- Assists with local benefits surveys, benchmarking data requests, and market competitive analysis.
- Provide support with activities related to statutory and company-sponsored retirement and savings programs, including the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and other retirement benefit programs, as required.
- Work with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders to oversee the tracking and administration of global leave programs and coordinate with payroll, managers, and employees as needed.
- Assist the Manager, Global Benefits with any mergers and acquisitions (M&A), employee integration, and benefits harmonization projects.
- Oversee the workers’ compensation and employee insurance claims processes, including reporting claims, tracking claim status, ensuring required documentation is submitted in a timely manner, and coordinating with internal stakeholders (e.g., Environment, Health & Safety, managers, payroll, insurers, etc.) as required.
- Stay current with APAC employment legislation and regulations, in consultation with benefit brokers and UCT management, related to employee benefits, leave administration, EPF, SOCSO, Employment Insurance System (EIS), and other statutory requirements.
- Assist with the management, administration and tracking of the global employee rewards and recognition programs including but not limited to Spot Awards, Milestone Service Awards, Tuition Assistance Program, etc.
- Regularly reviews and updates APAC benefits policies and employee handbooks to ensure compliance with local labor law updates as well as business needs.
- Assist with annual employee well-being initiatives, health screenings, vaccination programs, and other employee engagement activities.
- Assist with reconciliation of billing statements for medical insurance plans, employee benefit programs, and other benefit-related invoices, as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience with health & welfare, insurance, and retirement benefit programs within manufacturing or semiconductor industries preferred.
- General understanding and knowledge of APAC leave regulations, employment legislation, and labor laws.
- Critical thinking, resourceful, customer focus, collaboration, and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational, follow-through, and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams with the agility and flexibility to adapt to new and changing environments
- Working experience with UKG (UltiPro) and Times preferred. Strong computer software skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
Educational/Certification Requirement:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of Human Resources experience, with an emphasis on employee benefits administration, leave management, statutory benefits, and employee insurance claims; or any combination of education and experience that would provide an equivalent background.
