BIM MANAGER
Job Summary
The BIM Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating Building Information Modelling (BIM) activities across projects, ensuring BIM standards, processes, models and deliverables are properly implemented and maintained. The role involves coordinating with project teams, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely BIM deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee BIM implementation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop, implement and maintain BIM Execution Plans (BEP), BIM standards, workflows and procedures.
- Manage and coordinate BIM models from different disciplines, including architectural, structural and MEP services.
- Conduct BIM coordination and clash detection to identify and resolve design and construction conflicts.
- Review and ensure the accuracy, quality and compliance of BIM models and deliverables.
- Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, engineers, site teams and other project stakeholders on BIM matters.
- Lead BIM coordination meetings and follow up on outstanding coordination issues.
- Monitor BIM deliverables and ensure submissions are completed according to project requirements and deadlines.
- Manage the Common Data Environment (CDE) and ensure proper document and model control.
- Provide technical guidance and support to BIM Coordinators, BIM Modellers and project team members.
- Establish and maintain BIM modelling standards, naming conventions, templates and workflows.
- Review and manage model federation, model updates and information exchanges.
- Assist the project team in using BIM for construction planning, coordination, documentation and project delivery.
- Ensure BIM processes comply with project requirements, Singapore BIM standards and relevant BCA requirements.
- Provide training and guidance to project personnel on BIM software, workflows and best practices.
- Troubleshoot BIM-related technical issues and coordinate with relevant parties for resolution.
- Prepare BIM reports, coordination reports and other required documentation.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the management.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in BIM, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, MEP Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant BIM experience, preferably with experience in construction or infrastructure projects.
- Previous experience in a BIM Manager / BIM Lead / Senior BIM Coordinator role will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of BIM processes, coordination and model management.
- Proficient in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks and other relevant BIM software.
- Experience with AutoCAD and other design/modelling software will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of BIM collaboration platforms and Common Data Environment (CDE).
- Good understanding of construction processes and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Familiarity with Singapore BIM requirements, BCA submission requirements and industry standards.
- Strong leadership, communication and coordination skills.
- Able to manage multiple projects and work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as lead and support a BIM team.
