Business and Systems Analyst

Role Overview

We're looking for a Business and Systems Analyst to join our project team and play a key role in maintaining system stability while driving continuous improvement through enhancements. You'll work closely with clients, development teams, and cross-functional partners to deliver quality solutions that meet business needs.

Job Description

Operations & Production Support

- Provide maintenance and production support for assigned systems, including after-office hours support during peak periods

- Manage and track operational and production tasks to ensure timely delivery

- Respond to user queries and change requests promptly and professionally

- Collaborate with local, offshore, and facility management teams to resolve issues

- Perform system patches and upgrades as required

- Analyse, classify, and perform impact assessments on issues, queries and user requests

- Lead root cause investigations and implement workarounds or fixes

- Track all requests and issues through to closure, ensuring adherence to SLAs

- Validate that fixes are thoroughly tested before production rollout

- Maintain accurate configuration management records(hardware, software, documentation, etc)

- Prepare documentation and support other project activities as needed

Enhancement & Development Activities

- Work with clients, team members, and developers throughout the full enhancement lifecycle: requirement gathering, development, SIT, UAT preparation and support, implementation, and documentation

- Identify and analyse stakeholders; prepare and lead requirement gathering sessions

- Gather, analyse, and formalise user business processes and requirements

- Document functional and non-functional specifications

- Create screen mockups and prototypes to validate requirements and scope

- Analyse integration points between modules and external systems

- Maintain requirement traceability; identify out-of-scope items and escalate scope creep

- Review, identify, and resolve conflicting, incomplete, or inaccurate requirements

- Seek timely stakeholder approval and participate in scope negotiations

- Develop technical design specifications and translate them into process/program specifications

- Prepare training materials, system manuals, and user guides

- Provide post-implementation support to ensure smooth adoption

Experience & Knowledge

- Proven experience as a Business and Systems Analyst in a similar capacity

- Strong understanding of SDLC and ITIL frameworks

- Basic knowledge of Java and Unix commands

- Strong proficiency in SQL

- Familiarity with interfaces and batch jobs
