BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement business development strategies to increase the company's revenue and market presence.
- Identify new business opportunities in the building construction, upgrading, renovation, engineering and logistics sectors.
- Source potential construction projects, subcontracting opportunities and commercial contracts.
- Identify prospective clients including main contractors, developers, property owners, consultants and other construction-related organisations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
- Attend client meetings, site discussions, business presentations and project negotiations.
- Monitor upcoming construction projects, tenders and market opportunities in Singapore.
- Coordinate with management and project teams in preparing quotations, proposals and tender submissions.
- Review clients' project requirements and work with the operations team to propose suitable commercial and operational solutions.
- Negotiate pricing, contractual terms, payment conditions and scope of services with clients.
- Follow up on quotations, proposals and tender submissions to improve project conversion rates.
- Develop partnerships with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, transport providers and other industry stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling the company's construction and freight transportation services.
- Work closely with project and operations teams to ensure commitments made to customers can be delivered effectively.
- Maintain records of potential customers, ongoing negotiations, quotations and business opportunities.
- Prepare sales forecasts, business development reports and management updates.
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify new growth opportunities.
- Support management in developing new service lines, strategic partnerships and expansion plans.
- Ensure all business proposals and client commitments are commercially viable and aligned with company objectives.
- Represent the company professionally at client meetings, networking activities and industry events.
- Perform other business development and commercial duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Construction Management, Engineering, Logistics or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in business development, sales, construction, engineering, logistics or related industries.
- Good understanding of Singapore's construction and commercial environment will be an advantage.
- Experience in developing B2B relationships and securing new customers or projects.
- Ability to understand project requirements, quotations and commercial proposals.
- Strong negotiation, presentation and client relationship management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and achieve business development targets.
- Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and preparation of business proposals and reports.
