Business Relationship Manager
Position Purpose
Upholds the Credit Union’s mission of “We do the right thing one member, one employee, and one experience at a time to strengthen the communities we serve” by providing Business Lending services to current and potential business members. Examines, evaluates, and authorizes or recommends approval of member business loan applications using established policies of the Credit Union. Analyzes business members' entire portfolio and matches them with products and services that fit their needs.
Essential Responsibilities
- Receives and resolves member complaints and concerns. Keeps supervisor informed of critical issues.
- Carries out operations to protect and uphold member privacy and secure information properly.
- Attends and actively participates in various Credit Union meetings and programs.
- Meets with commercial members to evaluate lending needs, by telephone and in person.
- Gathers and analyzes information for loan application.
- Ensures all loan paperwork is complete and accurate according to credit union policies and procedures.
- Analyzes other potential lending and other product and service opportunities and cross sell to member.
- Establishes a working relationship with all commercial borrowers on an ongoing basis to meet their future lending needs.
- Closes loans and sets up payments.
- Actively attend meetings and training sessions to remain up to date and be responsible for policies, regulations, procedures, products and legal requirements, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) policies and regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned to assist others in completing tasks and work assignments.
Necessary Experience and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelors or Associate Degree preferred with emphasis in business, finance or related field.
- Three years business development experience.
- General office/administrative skills and experience. Ability to write reports, memos, and business letters.
- Good math aptitude and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal/member relations skills including the ability to cross-sell credit union products and services.
- Ability to project a professional image and practice professionalism in a financial environment.
- Ability to interpret documents, define and solve problems, and make decisions.
- Proven time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to learn and use credit union computer systems and software.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Office environment with desk assignment.
- Occasional travel to other branch locations.
- Minimal lifting of up to 25 pounds.
- Frequent use of telephone, copier, computer and fax machine.
- Prolonged sitting and frequent mental and visual concentration.
