Role Overview:
The C2 Analyst provides advanced operational, analytical, and doctrinal expertise in support of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force Operations Center Training Team (MOCTT) and the Marine Corps Integrated Systems Training Center (MISTC) network. This role supports the design, execution, and assessment of Battle Staff Training Exercises (BSTEX) and other Command and Control (C2) training events. The analyst applies rigorous methodologies aligned with the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS), Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE), and DoD 5000 acquisition frameworks to ensure training events are doctrinally sound, data-driven, and operationally relevant.
C2 Analysts serve as the connective tissue between operational warfighters, system engineers, and training developers, refining C2 processes, assessing performance, and providing recommendations that directly shape Marine Corps doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
General Skillset
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Project) and data analysis tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with briefing experience at senior staff levels
- Team-oriented with strong independent research capability
- Exceptional critical thinking and analytical reasoning skills
- Ability to translate complex technical and operational data into actionable insights
Specific Skillset
- Expert understanding of JCIDS, PPBE, and DoD 5000 processes
- Familiarity with MAGTF C2 architectures and Joint C2 interoperability frameworks
- Proven experience in operational planning, assessment, and doctrinal analysis at MEF, MARFOR, or COCOM levels
- Proficiency with MCTIMS, Performance Execution Checklists (PECLs) and other C2 performance assessment tools
- Experience developing After Action Reports (AARs), Battle Drills, and Master Scenario Event List (MSEL) injects
- Ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative performance data from multiple sources (system logs, chat transcripts, comms, voice data, observer notes)
- Experience producing formal CDRL deliverables to TECOM and MISTC HQ standards
