CAD Technical Designer/Fabricator Temporary
The position of CAD Technical Designer/Fabricator is to assist the Lead Technical Designer (LTD) through research and drawings to develop the best practice and most economically responsible way to produce exhibit elements and other items for fabrication, as well as build parts for fabrication.
The applicant must possess the ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining pleasant, flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Strong communication skills, decision-making, and attention to detail are important. They must work independently with little or no supervision.

Responsibilities

- To serve as a CAD Technical Designer working within the Attractions Division in a custom fabrication shop.
- Produce and check accurate, neat, and clean 2D and 3D fabrication detail drawings for production in a fabrication shop.
- Release drawings for fabrication and distribute to appropriate personnel.
- Work with fabrication shop personnel to answer questions and/or solve problems encountered during the manufacturing process.
- Assist with fabrication and installation of various exhibit pieces as required.
- Create Bill of Materials including prices and sourcing vendors.
- Project costs and materials needed for production.
- Maintain CAD workstation, Autodesk Add-ons, and custom scripts.
- Use of equipment such as printers and copiers, including managing paper and toner inventory.
- And all other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
