We're seeking a dedicated, observant, and community-minded Campus Safety and Security Officer to join our Student Affairs team. What You’ll Do
As a Campus Safety and Security Officer, you’ll serve as a first-line guardian of the campus community, ensuring a secure environment through proactive patrolling, incident response, and community engagement. You’ll work closely with students, staff, and local emergency services to promote a culture of safety and respect.
Key Responsibilities

Patrol campus residence halls, grounds, and roads on foot to maintain visibility and ensure safety.

Prevent unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, and fire hazards by monitoring and securing buildings and equipment.

Conduct safety checks on doors, windows, gates, lighting, and other security-related infrastructure.

Respond promptly and professionally to disturbances, complaints, and emergency situations.

Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency responders when necessary.

Document incidents accurately through detailed reports and logs.

Support fire and medical emergency response protocols and use fire extinguishers for small fires if required.

Provide respectful and helpful assistance to students, staff, and visitors, enhancing public relations and community trust.

Assist with traffic direction during special events or emergencies.

Perform other safety and security-related duties as needed.

Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and incident reporting systems.

Commitment to maintaining physical fitness and stamina for a role requiring mobility and responsiveness.
Physical Requirements

Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, and patrol outdoors in all weather conditions.

Ability to carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Must be able to see and hear clearly to respond effectively to safety concerns.
