Job Description

As the Category Manager Packaging & Sustainability, you will report to the Senior International Category Manager for Packaging. You will collaborate on developing and leading the category strategy, drive process improvement initiatives across Australia and New Zealand, and act as a point of escalation for operational matters. We are looking for an ambitious, confident, entrepreneurial, and high-spirited Sustainability & Procurement professional with a strength for data processing, optimization, and reporting.

This role is based in Chippendale, Sydney and reporting to the Senior International Category Manager for Packaging.

You will…

  • Develop, optimize, and align the packaging supplier network and Category Strategy across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Create ongoing data analysis and category reviews to drive strategic performance and achieve ambitious targets.
  • Support in providing procurement advice, price updates, reporting, invoice approval, replenishment, compliance, and tenders.
  • Work closely with suppliers to build strong long-term relationships and execute contracts.
  • Project manage and coordinate the preparation of all Non-Financial Reporting and monthly GHG scope data for the ANZ market.
  • Drive local sustainability optimization projects, including energy efficiency, renewable energy transition, and packaging innovation.
  • Facilitate required Scope 3 carbon reduction initiatives and act as the local point of contact for all regional sustainability work.

You have…

  • 3+ years of strategic procurement, sustainability, supply chain, or commercial consulting experience (ideally in food/FMCG).
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Sustainability, Economics, or Procurement (or equivalent).
  • Sound understanding of Sustainability drivers locally including APCO, and conceptual understanding of ‘How to” impact sustainability, primarily focussed on Packaging.
  • Experience in the packaging arena, including material specifications, supplier markets, and running regional tenders.
  • Quantitative and analytical expertise, with a solid comfort level using Excel.

Start Date: Immediately available - Can wait a notice period
