Key accountabilities & decision ownership
- Ensure charging systems KPIs are met via daily monitoring on the performance reports.
- Define needed monitoring controls to be able to monitor KPIs and provide the needed automation for quality improvement.
- Achieve KPIs and share them with management on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Be responsible for rolling out all the upgrades and packages applied on the charging system and organizing the rollout plans with the different project managers.
- Assess the charging system capacity reports and set actions for performance improvement.
- Attend different technical forums and meetings inside and outside technology which aim to improve the charging services quality.
- Perform housekeeping and system monitoring to prevent problems before their occurrence.
- Act upon escalated alarms and complaints from the services operations front-line team.
- Solve individual or global customer complaints through Remedy system, Siebel, or emails.
- Implement required network configuration and operational changes including upgrades and expansions.
- Apply different configuration changes with minimal impact.
- Launch commercial projects, prepaid customer promotions, and apply the required testing according to the agreed KPIs.
- Escalate and follow up problems with vendors, evaluate and implement their recommendations.
- Provide regular management updates as per agreed KPIs.
- Ensure that work is done according to Vodafone Egypt and industry standards.
- Ensure running the business in conformance with company security policies.
- Participate in technical sessions and courses and ensure full understanding and alignment with the new services and projects.
Core competencies, knowledge, and experience
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in telecom or IT.
- Sound technical capability and leadership skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Must have technical or professional qualifications:
- BSc of Engineering in Telecommunications or Computer Science.
- Advanced knowledge of telecom network services and telecom protocols SS7, TCP/IP.
- Advanced knowledge in IT operating systems (Unix, Linux, etc.) and system administration.
- Advanced knowledge of database technologies and good knowledge in database administration.
- Good knowledge of security and audit concepts.
- Hands-on experience with clustering solutions, database administration, virtualization, and application servers such as WebLogic, Tomcat, and JBoss.
- Good knowledge of computer programming languages and scripting.
