Chartering Manager

Job Description:
- Developing new business across sizes and areas
- Managing existing clients
- Negotiations and fixing of charter parties
- Worldwide communication with satellite offices, brokers, agents, owners and charterers
- Following performance of voyages and work closely with Operations Department
- Traveling to meet new and existing Clients, as well as participating in various events
- Setting up and executing strategies fitting long term view of the Company
- Taking lead and ownership on new projects
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Maritime Studies or related field, or equivalent relevant experience/ apprenticeship
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required to effectively communicate with internal teams and international stakeholders in a global business environment.
- Aptitude to negotiate and close business deals
- Must maintain strong problem solving skills and have the ability to think outside the box
- Experience on the Handy- and Supramax trade is required for this role
- Must have had exposure to Atlantic and Pacific marketsHas to be adaptable toan international setting and willing to work overtime regularly
- A high level of open-mindednessand creativity is necessary for the success of the role
- Demonstrating stronginterpersonal skills required to build and maintain relationships with existingand potential clients
- Expertise ininternational shipping and contract law is essentialExcellent verbal andwritten communication skills
