Cloud Engineer (AMK)
Overview
A Cloud Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the ongoing support, monitoring, and optimization of cloud systems to ensure they remain stable, secure, and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
1. System Monitoring &Maintenance
- Monitor cloud infrastructure (servers, storage, networks) for performance and availability
- Perform routine health checks and maintenance tasks
- Ensure uptime and reliability of cloud services
2. Incident Management &Troubleshooting
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues or outages
- Respond to alerts and incidents in a timely manner
- Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures
3. Performance Optimization
- Analyze system performance and recommend improvements
- Optimize cloud resource utilization (CPU, memory, storage)
- Support cost optimization initiatives
4. Patch & Upgrade Management in HERMES PROD and UAT
- Apply security patches and system updates regularly
- Manage OS, middleware, and platform upgrades
- Ensure systems remain compliant with security policies
- Generate utilization trends such as AWS CloudWatch CPU, Disk and RDS utilization
- Password Change every 90 days and indicate in the maintenance report.
- Refer to the attached maintenance checklist for the scope of the maintenance.
5. Backup & Recovery
- Manage backup schedules and ensure data integrity
- Test and support disaster recovery plans
- Ensure business continuity readiness
6. Security & Compliance
- Monitor security alerts and vulnerabilities
- Enforce access controls and cloud security best practices
- Support audits and compliance requirements
7. Automation &Documentation
- Automate routine maintenance tasks using scripts/tools
- Maintain clear documentation of configurations, procedures, and incidents
- Improve operational efficiency through automation
8. Collaboration & Support
- Work with application teams
- Provide technical support for production environments
- Assist in deployments and release activities when needed
