ALS Coal Technology is seeking a full-time and casual Coal Quality Tester to join its Team at Riverview. This is an entry-level position with the potential for long-term employment for the right candidate. The team focuses on the evaluation of metallurgical and thermal coal, utilizing advanced equipment like pilot/small-scale coke ovens and a Boiler Simulator Furnace.
Operational Hours: This role operates Monday to Friday across two rotating shifts: 6:00am–2:00pm and 10:00am–6:00pm.
Day to Day
Safely handle and process large coal and coke samples.
Load/unload material from ovens operating at high temperatures
Perform physical testing (crushing, sizing, dividing).
Record and transfer validated test results into systems.
General site duties and safety incident reporting.
Skills and Attributes
No prior experience required; full training provided.
Strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork.
Solid numeracy, literacy, and basic computer skills.
Physically fit; capable of repetitive manual handling in a dusty and hot environment.
Willingness to learn, wear protective equipment, and meet production deadlines.
