Computer Programmer (52430)
Summary
Computer programmer supporting the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIH/NIEHS) by maintaining, monitoring, and developing PHP/Drupal (v10+) web applications, databases, and software tools, including testing, debugging, documentation, and security patches.
Position Objective: The Computer Programmer will independently provide support services to assist in fulfilling the overall operational objective of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences within the National Institutes of Health.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides technical experience needed to assist in reviewing, updating, analyzing and modifying existing programming systems.
- Encodes, tests, debugs and installs new programs using various programming languages.
- Develops and schedules data backups, security patches or upgrades, etc.
- Documents all assignments and creates various reports as needed.
- Writes and maintains program documentation.
- Documents programming problems and resolutions for future reference.
- Work products and documents related to performing technical duties in PHP/Drupal (version 10 or higher) technology areas such as roadmaps, schedules, status reports, plans, and recommendations; coordinate activities with third parties; provide recommendations and review work.
- Work products and documents related monitoring tasks related to the Drupal project plans and work closely with the Senior OpDev Specialist PHP Drupal; maintain and monitor applications, databases, or software tools; implement improvements to operations; test and maintain software products to ensure strong functionality and optimization.
- Work products and documents related to performing operational duties; maintain and monitor applications, databases or software tools; implement improvements to operations; maintain and follow SOPs; test and maintain software products.
- Work products and documents related to performing development duties; develop and implement new or major revisions; maintain and follow SOPs; provide recommendations and review.
- Work products and documents related to writing and maintaining program documentation.
