COMSEC Account Manager
The USSS CIO is seeking a skilled COMSEC Account Manager to ensure the security and integrity of all classified communications systems, Key Management Infrastructure (KMI), and associated equipment. In this role, you will assist the USSS in developing, advising, and maintaining KMI systems, COMSEC management, and associated equipment.
Responsibilities:Manage and safeguard COMSEC materials and equipment:
- Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on COMSEC equipment, including Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) baseline configurations.
- Account for, track, and store classified equipment and materials according to NSA and USSS security protocols.
- Perform key management tasks, including generating, loading, and distributing keying material.
- Oversee secure equipment installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with security policies.
- Store, prepare, package, and deploy COMSEC equipment for use throughout the Secret Service.
Provide technical support and expertise:
- Advise CIO COMM and USSS personnel on COMSEC best practices and procedures.
- Issuing tokens and activating accounts on the secure network.
- Research and evaluate new COMSEC technologies and solutions.
- Install software patches on systems to ensure compliance with national policy.
- Perform software upgrades on viper phones to enhance phone operability and security.
- Develop and deliver COMSEC training and awareness programs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve COMSEC-related issues. Provide Tier 3 support to agents nationwide to ensure secure communication.
Maintain accurate documentation and records:
- Control classified documents, securing, tracking, accounting, and disposing of classified documents.
- Prepare and submit reports on COMSEC activities and inventory.
- Maintain documentation of all COMSEC procedures and policies.
- Manage and update engineering documents and configuration management records.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives:
- Assist with Continuity of Operations (COOP) and Continuity of Government (COG) testing for classified systems.
- Assist with surveys and design of Sensitive Compartmental Information Facilities (SCIFs).
- Contribute to the development and implementation of secure telephone/device systems.
Additional duties:
- Ensure compliance with all USSS/DHS security procedures and regulations.
- Propose network policies and procedures related to COMSEC access and security.
- Track secure asset replacements, upgrades, and troubleshoot issues.
