Key accountabilities & decision ownership
- Provide strong support in the Datacom/CPN area at all technical levels of operation.
- Ensure proper and timely handling of individual/global complaints related to Datacom area.
- Initiate actions to improve the quality, availability, and measurement of the area.
- Ensure highest network quality, availability, and resilience through development and implementation of enhancement projects and work streams.
- Responsible for reviewing new technology, roadmaps, and incident trends.
- Provide troubleshooting, analysis, and problem solution for critical situations.
- Follow up and prepare the Datacom network planned activities to ensure fault-free operation during different activity phases, coping with O&M quality standards and procedures.
- Provide 24x7 second line on-call support for Datacom network emergencies reported by internal customers to fix critical problems.
- Fine tune the Datacom nodes to achieve smooth and high-quality performance.
- Implement preventive software correction packages on Datacom nodes to solve network problems.
- Secure the Datacom network elements.
- Assess the need for suppliers' support intervention and follow up with suppliers regarding any Datacom network issues.
- Provide Datacom technical support to internal and external customers and ensure their satisfaction.
- Follow the escalation and reporting procedure in due time.
- Report Datacom network problems promptly with clear information to management for proper decision making.
- Report Datacom network activities to management for proper follow-up.
- Report performance against agreed plans and KPIs.
- Participate in acceptance and testing of new Datacom nodes, systems, features, and services.
- Implement software and hardware system upgrades.
- Implement hardware system expansions.
- Follow the Datacom, Change Management teams, and Service Management processes/SLA.
- Attend all assigned trainings, sessions, or workshops.
Core competencies, knowledge, and experience
- Good IP knowledge with a strong background in SP (MPLS, VPLS, BGP, etc.)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in relevant field
- CCNP SP and MPLS knowledge is a must
- CCIE SP level
- Good knowledge of firewalls: Juniper, NetScreen, CISCO ASA, Fortinet, IPS or equivalent
- F5 Load Balancer knowledge is preferred
- ACI technology is preferred
- Good understanding of GSM/3G network
- Python programming knowledge is a plus
- Automation and scripting tools development experience is a plus
- Good communication skills
