Corporate Network Engineer - Associate

Job Description / Responsibilities:
As a Corporate Network Engineer, you will work in a team environment to provide support including:
· Perform highly technical network software and hardware configurations.
· Engineer, or review and approve new configurations prior to implementation, and interact with engineering and support teams during project turnover to ensure adherence to standards compliance.
· Collaborate with clients, implementation, and operations personnel.
· Be apprised of and recommend the implementation of new network technologies to improve stability, supportability, and performance within the network.
· Interact with developers and implementers of new applications to better understand enterprise impact of new traffic streams. Continually evaluate current state of configuration to identify ways to improve service to our users and customers.
· Communicate findings to performance engineering / architecture within Network Services and the LOB (Line of Business).
· Creating and communicating service delivery procedures and run-books.
· Provide 4th level escalation support in Severity 1 networking problems.
· Perform internal formal and informal training of network support and engineering staff including Operations.
· Perform duties following all JPMC standards regarding engagement, change management and escalations.
· Evening/weekend work a requirement.
Qualifications / Experience:
· Equivalent of a B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
· 7-10 years of experience of LAN/WAN engineering including implementing production solutions .
· Extensive knowledge of class Cisco Routers and layer 2/3 Switches, load balancers, VPNs, firewalls, NAT, Spanning Tree, Multicast, MPLS, Frame Relay, QOS and TCP/IP routing including EIGRP, OSPF, BGP a must.
· Experience with Cisco Native IOS and current routing/switching hardware platforms.
· Knowledge of legacy protocols, RSRB, DLSW, IPX, SNA, caching, and IDS a bonus
· CCIE, Written CCIE, or on the CCIE Track
· Cisco IP Telephony, project management, firewall experience, technical writing is a plus.
· Broadcom Proxy, F5, Arista and Juniper experience a bonus.
· Trading floor, financial industry and international experience is a plus and highly desired.
