Credit Card Underwriting Manager
You will establish and own the credit risk framework for a new credit card program. You will manage underwriting policies and decisioning, administer the Loan Origination System, review applications, oversee credit models, monitor portfolio and fraud performance, manage credit and KYC vendors, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the Head of Credit Card.
Responsibilities
- Establish the Credit Risk Policy framework
- Define and manage underwriting rules in the Loan Origination System
- Conduct manual reviews of referred applications
- Perform KYC and income verification
- Manage the Adverse Action process and required credit notices
- Update the credit policy buy box using market and performance data
- Oversee credit model governance and validation
- Monitor automated credit-scoring performance
- Identify and mitigate emerging fraud trends
- Coordinate collections reporting and delinquency monitoring
- Manage Loan Origination System and credit bureau relationships
- Ensure successful Metro2 credit bureau reporting
- Coordinate vendor selection and integration
- Serve as the credit risk liaison with the Sponsor Bank
- Support the Head of Credit Card and other team members
Requirements
- Experience in credit card underwriting and credit risk management
- Understanding of credit scoring models and Adverse Action regulations
- Experience managing Credit Risk Policy frameworks and buy boxes
- Analytical skills for monitoring model performance and portfolio delinquency
- Experience with KYC and credit-quality verification
- Expertise in Regulation B and the Fair Credit Reporting Act
- Experience with Loan Origination Systems, credit bureaus, KYC providers, and fraud providers
- Problem-solving and communication skills
