Credit Manager (Policy)
You will design credit risk policies, procedures, and strategies for retail lending features, validate underwriting strategies, manage responses to market and product changes, develop account-level valuation and underwriting policies, monitor portfolio returns and credit KPIs, improve operational efficiency, and support risk governance.
Responsibilities
- Develop account-level valuation and credit underwriting policies using NPV frameworks
- Make data-driven marginal decisions
- Manage credit limits, risk-based pricing, retention strategies, and over-limit policies
- Adjust risk-return requirements and portfolio returns
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and planning
- Track initiatives and monitor credit KPIs
- Identify operational inefficiencies and implement small-scale change
- Ensure approval and good ratings from risk functions and regulators
Requirements
- Experience managing the risk cycle for retail credit products such as credit cards and unsecured personal loans
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or analytical field such as engineering, statistics, physics, maths, economics, or management
- Understanding of credit policy governance frameworks and second and third lines of defence
- Track record of delivering results that exceed requirements
- Ability to plan, meet multiple objectives, and proactively resolve issues
- Knowledge of credit and behavioural scoring models
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and simply
- Understanding of speed to market and business needs
- Master's degree
- Working knowledge of SQL, R, Python, and other data analysis tools
- Willingness to learn new technology
