Cybersecurity Consultant – Access & Identity (IAM)

We are looking for a Cybersecurity Consultant specialising in Access & Identity Management to design, implement, integrate and operate enterprise Identity and Access Management solutions.

The role will focus on from requirements gathering and solution design through implementation, testing, deployment and post-implementation operations. The successful candidate will work closely with customers, project teams, architects and technology stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable and business-aligned IAM solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Requirements & Solution Design

  • Engage customers and stakeholders to understand business, security and technical requirements for IAM initiatives.
  • Conduct workshops and translate business requirements into functional and technical IAM solutions.
  • Analyse existing identity, access management and authentication environments and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop solution designs, technical specifications and implementation approaches for IAM solutions.
  • Provide technical recommendations covering identity lifecycle management, access governance, authentication, authorisation and privileged access considerations.
  • Work with solution architects and project teams to ensure IAM solutions align with enterprise security architecture and standards.

2. SailPoint Implementation

  • Design, configure and implement SailPoint Identity Security Cloud (ISC) and SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ) solutions.
  • Implement identity lifecycle management, joiner-mover-leaver processes and access provisioning/deprovisioning workflows.
  • Configure identity sources, applications, connectors, aggregation and provisioning processes.
  • Implement access certifications, access requests, approval workflows and role-based access controls.
  • Develop and customise SailPoint workflows, rules, policies and integrations where required.
  • Integrate SailPoint with enterprise applications, directories, databases and other identity platforms.
  • Perform troubleshooting, performance tuning and issue resolution across SailPoint environments.

3. Ping Identity Implementation

  • Design and implement Ping Identity solutions, with particular focus on:PingAM for authentication, authorisation and access management.PingDS for directory services and identity data management.
  • Configure authentication journeys, policies, identity stores and access management capabilities.
  • Integrate Ping Identity solutions with enterprise applications and external identity providers.
  • Support SSO, federation and standards-based integrations such as SAML, OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect.
  • Perform integration testing, troubleshooting and optimisation of Ping Identity environments.

4. End-to-End Project Delivery

  • Take ownership of IAM workstreams throughout the project lifecycle, including:Requirements gatheringTechnical and solution designInstallation and configurationDevelopment and customisationSystem integrationTesting and defect resolutionUser acceptance testingDeployment and go-liveKnowledge transferPost-implementation support
  • Prepare technical documentation, configuration documents, test plans, deployment plans and operational runbooks.
  • Work closely with project managers, infrastructure teams, application teams and customer stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
  • Identify and manage technical risks, dependencies and implementation issues throughout the project.

5. Post-Implementation Operations & Support

  • Provide L2/L3 technical support for SailPoint and Ping Identity environments.
  • Monitor system health, troubleshoot incidents and resolve production issues.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent remediation.
  • Support system upgrades, patches, enhancements and configuration changes.
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures, monitoring requirements and troubleshooting guides.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve IAM platform stability, security and operational efficiency.

6. Security & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure IAM implementations comply with security policies, regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Identify security risks and recommend appropriate controls to strengthen identity security.
  • Support IAM maturity assessments and improvement initiatives.
  • Keep abreast of emerging IAM technologies, identity security practices and product capabilities.
  • Contribute to the development of reusable IAM solutions, accelerators and implementation methodologies.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Degree or diploma in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 3–6 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, Identity & Access Management or security engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with SailPoint Identity Security Cloud (ISC) and/or SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ).
  • Hands-on experience with Ping Identity, particularly PingAM and PingDS.
  • Proven experience delivering IAM projects from requirements gathering through implementation and post-implementation operations.
  • Strong understanding of:Identity lifecycle managementAccess provisioning and deprovisioningAccess certification and governanceRole-Based Access Control (RBAC)Authentication and authorisationSingle Sign-On (SSO)Identity federationDirectory services
  • Experience integrating IAM platforms with enterprise applications, databases and directories.
  • Familiarity with identity and security protocols such as SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect and LDAP.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of cybersecurity principles and enterprise security architecture.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work directly with customers.
