Data Analyst - Management Accounting
Roles & Responsibilities
Analyse Management Accounting processes covering:
Profit & Loss and profitability reporting
Revenue and expense attribution
Cost allocation and cost centre structures
Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP)
General Ledger and Chart of Accounts structures
Product, customer, business unit, legal entity and organisational hierarchies
Management reporting and financial performance analysis
Understand how financial transactions flow from source systems through the GL, Finance data platforms, allocation processes, FTP engines and Management Accounting reporting layers.
Analyse existing finance processes, controls, data flows, calculations and reporting logic to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
Skills/Requirements
Experience in Management Accounting
Strong practical knowledge of:
Banking Management Accounting
Profit & Loss structures
Cost allocation methodologies
Funds Transfer Pricing
General Ledger structures
Chart of Accounts
Cost centres and profit centres
Financial hierarchies and reference data
Management reporting
Demonstrated experience performing business process analysis, not solely technical data analysis.
Strong ability to translate business requirements into data requirements and data model concepts.
Experience working closely with data modellers and data architects.
Strong SQL skills for data analysis, reconciliation, validation and investigation.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, reconciliation models and large dataset analysis.
Experience defining:
Source-to-target mappings
Business rules
Data transformations
Data dictionaries
Data lineage
Reporting specifications
Experience working with complex Finance and Management Accounting reporting suites.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
