Data Architect (Migration)
Our client, a Queensland Government department is delivering a major enterprise transformation program, and Troocoo are looking for a Data Architect (Migration) to help lead the way.
Define and govern data architecture across Microsoft Fabric analytics and a large-scale data migration stream, moving legacy Appian-based SQL source systems into Microsoft Dataverse. You'll be the design authority across two critical workstreams that most programs treat as separate problems, bringing them together into one coherent enterprise data approach.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you'll sit within an internal delivery team and work closely with Data Engineers, Data Migration Engineers, Senior Data Analysts, Solution Architects, developers, testers, and business stakeholders.
What you'll be doing:
If you're a senior data architect who's just as comfortable designing a medallion layer as you are leading a Dataverse cutover, we'd love to hear from you. Apply now.

What you'll be doing:
- Designing the target Fabric analytics architecture: OneLake structure, Lakehouse and warehouse patterns, medallion layers, curated data products and semantic model alignment
- Leading migration architecture from Appian-based SQL sources into Dataverse staging, mapping, transformation, sequencing, cutover, rollback and post-load validation
- Setting the standards: data architecture principles, naming conventions, modelling approaches, security and lineage requirements, and quality controls
- Acting as design authority for analytical data design, data product structure and cross-platform data flow
- Guiding delivery teams through backlog refinement, design walkthroughs, architecture reviews and release readiness
- Translating complex data trade-offs into plain language for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Extensive enterprise data architecture experience on large, complex transformation programs
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Fabric: OneLake, Lakehouses, warehouses, medallion architecture, pipelines, semantic models and governed data products
- Proven experience leading migration architecture into Dataverse, Dynamics 365, Power Platform or a comparable enterprise SaaS platform
- Solid understanding of Dataverse data modelling: tables, relationships, alternate keys, security roles, ownership and platform constraints
- A track record of defining source-to-target mappings, transformation rules, data quality and reconciliation controls
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills
