Data Center Hardware Technician
You will maintain the operational integrity of modular data centers supporting cloud and AI services. You will monitor operations and HVAC performance, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot fiber networks and server hardware, repair critical systems, document maintenance procedures, manage contractors and vendors, and participate in emergency on-call response.
Responsibilities
- Monitor data center operations and HVAC performance
- Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems
- Schedule and oversee contractor maintenance services
- Diagnose and repair fiber network infrastructure and server hardware
- Identify and repair data center problems
- Assist with SOP and MOP documentation
- Manage contractor services and infrastructure vendors
- Participate in an emergency on-call rotation
- Notify appropriate departments about maintenance activities
Requirements
- Knowledge of IT systems, network infrastructure, and data center electrical and mechanical systems
- Understanding of transformers, PLCs, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, STS, ATS, PDUs, chilled water systems, and fire suppression systems
- Experience with data trending and analysis
- Ability to learn and use EPMS/BMS monitoring systems
- Knowledge of industrial safety practices, LOTO, NFPA 70E, and OSHA regulations
- Experience with computer and network equipment, HVAC, and electrical infrastructure
- Participation in a drug and alcohol program is required
