Data Engineer and Report Developer
Salary: AUD 100 - 110 per hour, + Super
Our Queensland Government client is currently seeking a Data Engineer and Report Developer with strong experience in Microsoft Fabric and the Microsoft SQL Server suite (SSAS, SSIS, SSRS), MS Fabric and Power BI.As the Data Engineer and Report Developer you will be responsible for enhancing and maintaining a complex Data Warehouse environment and developing Power BI reports to business requirements.
In this role you will:
- Analyse, detail and document reporting and data requirements.
- Undertake ETL development for SQL server and MS Fabric
- Investigate and improve ETL and report performance
- Develop Microsoft DevOps (CI/ CD) to deployment pipeline
- Design and implement semantic models and operational data stores
- Develop reports utilising Power BI
- Provide expert technical advice on contemporary business intelligence and data engineering practices
- High level of knowledge and skills developing and supporting data warehouse and business intelligence solutions using Microsoft SQL Server suite (SSAS, SSIS, SSRS), MS Fabric and Power BI.
- Demonstrated experience working closely with business SMEs to gather and refine requirements
- High level skills and knowledge in report design, development and best practice
- Experience of ETL processes using SSIS and MS Fabric tools.
- Experience in design and development of ETL workflows and data mapping.
- Extensive data warehouse development experience.
- Good understanding of Conceptual, Logical and Physical data modelling, including the ability reverse engineer data models into BI aligned data models.
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
- The ability work through business requirements, understanding of business needs and drivers and the ability to advise on the best course of action.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to manage relationships and consult with stakeholder groups to enable gathering and analysis of requirements to meet business needs.
