We are seeking a highly skilled and technically adept Data Engineer I to join our PVA Data Engineering team. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant data pipelines and infrastructure to support data-driven insights. Leveraging native AWS technologies and Amazon’s internal tools, you will handle data ingestion, transformation, integration, and ensure high standards of data quality through validation, cleansing, and deduplication.
This role will be responsible for building and maintaining efficient, scalable, and privacy/security complaint data pipelines to support our business stakeholders. These pipelines will be built using both tools available in Native AWS as well as Amazon internal tools and technologies.
This role will need to be able to work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and work alongside them to ensure data being ingested meets the business user's needs and will well modeled and organized to promote scalable usage and good data hygiene.
This role is expected to leverage new technologies like Gen AI to and adapt to business needs, building and improving frameworks and processes with these new tools to accelerate development and improve data quality.
You'll also manage diverse technologies such as Python, EMR, Spark, Iceberg, Airflow, and many AWS data services like Glue, Athena, Redshift to build a scalable platform that supports analytics and experimentation. The ideal candidate must be customer-obsessed with a passion for advertising, able to synthesize a variety of technologies, and effectively lead complex projects.

Modern Data Infrastructure & Real-Time Processing
• Engineer modern data infrastructure supporting real-time data processing for AI/ML inference and training workloads
• Build semantic layers enabling intelligent query routing and context-aware data access
• Develop infrastructure for AI-powered automated workflows and orchestration
• Implement AI-driven data quality, entity resolution, and metadata management solutions
Data-as-a-Product Delivery
• Own end-to-end accountability for data products from ingestion to consumption
• Deliver data products with clear SLAs, quality metrics, and customer satisfaction measures
• Build self-service platforms with embedded governance, lineage, and discovery capabilities
• Establish data contracts and APIs for reliable, versioned data consumption
AWS Infrastructure & Pipeline Engineering
• Manage AWS resources including EC2, Lambda, S3, Redshift, and EMR
• Build high-quality data pipelines supporting analysts, data scientists, and downstream consumers
• Implement CDC and event-driven architectures for real-time data availability
• Deploy infrastructure-as-code using CDK
