Data Engineer
Summary
Data Engineer for a regulated web 3.0 enterprise software provider and blockchain educator in Hong Kong. Day-to-day work involves analyzing website structures and developing curl-based automated scripts and crawlers to extract, maintain, and monitor web data, using HTTP/HTML/JavaScript and Linux/UNIX.
Our client is a regulated web 3.0 enterprise software provider and blockchain educator. They are currently seeking for a Data Engineer to join their team.
Data Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Analyse the websites structure and implementation to extract designed data
- Develop automated script with curl to extracting data from websites
- Review and leverage automated scripts and crawlers to maintain the freshness, integrity and quality of the website data
- Communicate the status of website updates on a daily basis
- Provides the option of flexible working hours and the ability to work in-person or remotely
Requirements:
- Higher Diploma or Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Computer Engineering or relevant disciplines
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in data engineering (an internship or apprenticeship position is acceptable)
- Good knowledge of solution architecture design, software development processes, and project management methodologies
- Familiarity with web-based authentication e.g. Session, JWT, OAuth, SAML, etc.
- Knowledge in Linux/UNIX, HTTP, HTML, JavaScript and Networking
- Excellent communication skills including written and spoken English and Chinese
