Data Scientist, Finance
You will build and scale financial analytics, including data models, metrics frameworks, forecasts, and strategic analyses. You will partner with Finance, Data, and Engineering to analyze product and business data, create dashboards and reporting, maintain data reliability, and communicate financial insights to executive and board audiences.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain financial projections, decision analyses, and long-range plans with the Finance team
- Leverage product and business data for financial insights, cohort analysis, and predictive modeling
- Analyze funnels, cohorts, and user behavior to inform decisions
- Build dashboards, alerts, and automated reporting
- Monitor data quality and collaborate with Engineering to maintain reliability
- Translate complex financial data into clear narratives for executive and board audiences
- Support fundraising and strategic initiatives with ad-hoc financial analysis and data room preparation
Requirements
- Build metrics frameworks and data models
- Perform exploratory analysis, behavioral modeling, hypothesis testing, and strategic recommendations
- Create production-level data models with strong testing and clear pipeline ownership
- Use SQL, Python, and statistical analysis with data at scale
- Demonstrate curiosity about user behavior, growth, and retention
- Apply financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis, including P&L, cash flow, and unit economics
