This is a fully remote position within New South Wales, Australia.
About the Database Administrator position:
The Database Administrator is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and supporting the operation of LoadSpring’s database portfolio. This role provides administration of backup, security, integrity, and availability across the database environment, handling tasks ranging from software upgrades to complex troubleshooting. The DBA continually evaluates and optimizes the database ecosystem to improve performance, reliability, and scalability.
What you'll do as a Database Administrator:
- Track and maintain database standards.
- Follow governance policies and best practices for database management and usage across the enterprise.
- Perform installation and upgrades of the database server and application tools on time and per standards.
- Enforce controls and monitor user access to the database.
- Implement security measures to safeguard the database.
- Monitor the performance, security, and uptime of all database systems.
- Ensure that patches are identified and applied to systems in line with documented security and database best practices.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of comprehensive documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Maintain database backup and recovery plans to safeguard critical data against loss or corruption.
- Follow Change Management processes to implement database configuration changes.
- Follow Problem Management processes to troubleshoot and resolve recurring issues.
- Proactively monitor and respond to database alerts.
- Respond to and resolve tickets and new build requests within SLA guidelines.
- Act as a mentor within the DBA team and broader organization, providing guidance, training, and knowledge sharing.On-call rotation to ensure 24 x 7 support of database operations.
