As the Datacenter Operations Manager IT, you will develop and manage the datacenter infrastructure, including servers, storage area networks, cloud services, and related systems.Datacenter Operations Manager IT
Serves in the Technology Operations Department in the Office of Technology at the Headquarters Office.
Directly and through subordinate staff, ensures the Office of Technology’s ability to provide continuous, broad-scope, and high-quality datacenter systems and services to all Airports Authority end users. Performs related functions.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as a principal advisor on Datacenter programs, systems, and operational issues.
Provides direction and operational planning for Datacenter Operations and recommends revisions to its system plan to facilitate growth and improved services.
Oversees administration of the Datacenter Operations, ensuring timely service and effective support to all users.
Provides liaison with Airports Authority and non-Airports Authority users and other parties.
Performs regular inspections of Datacenter equipment sites and systems, ensures needed repairs are ordered and completed, and maintains records on the systems.
Coordinates the Airports Authority’s Cloud Base operations, with an emphasis on controlling and reducing costs while improving performance.
Oversees configuration, installation, and upgrading of all operating systems, devices, hardware, software, physical and virtual servers, and storage area networks (SAN).
Manages deployment, monitoring, maintenance, backup operations, and support to ensure continuous delivery of services.
Coordinates administration of the Microsoft Active Directory, Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Microsoft Exchange, and other Microsoft solutions.
Develops policies, procedures, service level agreements, and measures to monitor and maintain a high level of Datacenter service delivery for architecture, security, disaster recovery, purchasing, and other areas.
Prepares statements of work (SOWs) and serves as Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) for contracted services for Datacenter operations.
Administers the operations, training, and maintenance service accounts in conjunction with the Program Support Department.
Maintains technical proficiency as it relates to Datacenter systems and components; keeps the Director and other Office managers informed of new advances in and changes to Datacenter systems technology.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Eight years of progressively responsible experience in technology management.
Skill in developing datacenter infrastructure strategies for large and complex initiatives as well as to support continuous availability capabilities.
Skill in managing the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and support of operating systems, devices, hardware, and software.
Knowledge of supervisory principles and ability to manage the operations and programs of the unit/team.
Ability to manage cloud based operations [Infrastructure as a service (IaaS), Platform as a service (PaaS), and/or Software as a service (SaaS)] in the delivery of private, public, or hybrid cloud services, and the ability to use these operations for data center consolidation programs and moving internally hosted datacenters to an externally hosted environment.
Skill in managing or leading the design, configuration, installation and upgrading of servers (physical and virtual), upgrading of Operating systems (Windows, Linux, VMware), devices, hardware, software, Server (physical and virtual), Storage Area Networks (SAN), and backup operations, to support IT systems infrastructures.
Knowledge of Active Directory Services and Microsoft Exchange Email and ability to design and implementation of directory solutions for the Datacenter.
Ability to speak and write effectively.
Ability to perform complex analyses of data and information and make recommendations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of and skill in managing of technology contracts, with emphasis on cloud broker contracts of major scope.
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations from an accredited examination institute.
Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
EDUCATION
A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES REQUIRED
A state driver’s license in good standing.
NECESSARY SPECIAL FACTORS
Work is typically reviewed in progress and upon completion for quantity, quality, timeliness, teamwork, customer service, and other factors.
May be subject to hold over and recall on a 24-hour basis for essential services and emergencies.
Must be able to work varied schedule of days and outside normal business hours for scheduled and emergency maintenance and upgrades and for standard on-call rotation.
May lift and move items weighing 25 pounds or more.
May work in cramped or awkward positions to manually adjust wires, controls, and equipment.
A background security investigation will be required for all new hires.
