About the Role
The Commercial Demand Manager will have the following key responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain demand plans, forecasts, and statistical models that align with sales targets, customer needs, market trends, and production capacity.
- Establish and maintain effective cross-functional relationships with sales, marketing, finance, production, and logistics teams to ensure that all information is used to develop accurate and achievable demand plans.
- Co-ordinate forecasts between customers and sales teams to ensure that all demand signals are captured and used in the demand planning process.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to forecast for planned customer promotions and new product launches, helping manage product life cycles, and ensure product availability.
- Analyse historical data, trends, and market intelligence to identify potential demand risks and opportunities, and provide regular reports to the management team to inform decision-making.
- Participate in the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process to ensure that the demand plan is integrated into the overall business plan – in the first instance, help design, develop and implement this process, bringing the Sales Organisation on the journey to 95% OTIF
- Analyse demand patterns and provide input to the S&OP process to support the development of master production schedules and inventory strategies.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate stock replenishment with supply chain teams to ensure optimal inventory levels that meet customer demands and minimize stockouts, backorders, and write-offs.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure demand planning effectiveness and identify opportunities for continuous improvement, to include forecast accuracy of the Sales Organisation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field or demonstrable experience in a multi-site, multi-channel, multi customer, commercially driven business
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in demand planning and coordination, preferably in a complex supply chain environment.
- Excellent analytical, forecasting, and modelling skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other demand planning tools.
- Strong communication, motivational, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
- High level of attention to detail with excellent project management skills.
- Ability to “bring other with them”
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Understanding of ERP systems, preferably SAP.
