Developer Embedded Linux (m/f/x)
Enabler for smaller, more powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips
Working for tomorrow today.
Around 80 percent of all microchips worldwide are produced using ZEISS technologies. As the centerpiece of every electronically controlled system, they have become an integral part of our everyday lives – whether in smartphones, smart homes or smart factories. ZEISS is a technology leader in the field of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. With high-precision lithography optics, photomask systems and process control solutions, ZEISS enables the production of ever smaller, increasingly powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips, and thus plays a pivotal role in the age of micro- and nanoelectronics.
Your Role
In this role, you will develop software for highly precise lithography systems and contribute to robust embedded control solutions in a demanding semiconductor environment.
You will work closely with experienced experts in software, electronics and system development and help shape technical solutions from implementation to design decisions.
Develop embedded control software for next-generation lithography systems - Implement software for bare-metal controllers with a strong focus on C programming
Contribute to embedded Linux-based software components where required
Support software architecture definition and translate requirements into sustainable technical solutions
Create and improve test infrastructure for software verification and validation
Analyze technical requirements, runtime behavior and edge cases to ensure reliable system performance
Work closely with an agile and highly specialized development team
Your Profile
Degree in engineering, computer science, control systems, mathematics, physics or a comparable field
Strong and recent hands-on experience in professional C software development for bare-metal systems
Sound understanding of low-level embedded software concepts, including memory management and hardware-related programming
Practical experience in machine-oriented software development, embedded Linux or real-time environments
Initial experience in software architecture tasks and in making technical design decisions
Good understanding of software design principles and the ability to derive solutions from requirements, runtime behavior and relevant edge cases
Experience with Python for test automation is an advantage
Ideally, knowledge of FPGA or VHDL
Strong analytical skills, a structured way of working and clear communication in interdisciplinary teams
Very good English skills; German skills are an advantage
