Direct Support Professional - Manlius NY

Advocates is seeking a creative and compassionate Mentor (DSP/1:1 support staff) to work with a gifted, friendly, and energetic young lady with developmental disabilities. In this critical role you will assist her with participating in community-based activities, such as physical fitness activities (going for walks, to the gym, etc.), encouraging her to engage in social activities appropriately, and help her explore any potential points/activities of interest. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, patient, respectful, and has experience working with individuals who have disabilities. Due to the unique needs of this young woman, only candidates with extensive experience working with individuals in need of increased behavioral support will be considered. Candidate must possess a keen sense of attention to detail, especially when electronically logging each day's time, mileage, and service documentation. DSP must have a valid email address.
Hours and days of work
2-3 days per week:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Fridays (anytime between 9:30 AM - 3:30 PM)
Full-time opportunities may be available throughout the agency.
Pay rate: $30.00 per hour when providing direct support. The hourly rate for indirect/training is $16.00 per hour.
Location: Manlius, NY
