Job Summary:

The Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) Functional Architect is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and governance of enterprise ERP solutions on the D365 F&O platform.

This role combines deep functional expertise (Finance and Operations) with technical architecture capabilities (integrations, data, customization) to deliver scalable, secure, and business-aligned ERP solutions.

The architect acts as the bridge between business, functional teams, and technical delivery, ensuring high quality implementation across all phases of the program.

What You'll Do:

1. Solution Architecture (F&O Focus)

• Lead end‑to‑end architecture design for D365 F&O ERP implementations
• Define:
  • Enterprise data models (GL, sub-ledgers, dimensions)
  • Integration architecture (middleware, APIs, batch frameworks)
  • Security and compliance models
• Ensure solutions meet scalability, performance, and governance standards

2. Functional Leadership (Finance & Supply Chain)

• Drive functional design across modules:
  • Finance (GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets)
  • Procurement & Sourcing
  • Supply Chain Management
• Conduct:
  • Requirement workshops
  • Fit-gap analysis
  • Process re-engineering
• Translate business processes into functional designs and configurations

3. Integration & Data Architecture

• Design and govern integrations between D365 F&O and external systems (e.g., middleware, payroll, third-party apps)
• Define:
  • Data transformation rules
  • Integration patterns (real-time, batch, event-driven)
  • Error handling and reconciliation mechanisms

4. Technical Solution Design

• Provide oversight for:
  • Customizations (extensions, X++, workflows)
  • Data entities, DMF, batch jobs
  • Reporting (SSRS, Power BI)
• Lead design reviews to ensure:
  • Minimal customization (maximize standard)
  • High-quality architecture
• Guide development teams on best practices

5. Delivery & Program Leadership

• Own end-to-end delivery lifecycle:
  • Solution design → Build → SIT → UAT → Go-live → Hypercare
• Work closely with:
  • Functional leads
  • Technical architects
  • Integration teams
• Ensure adherence to Microsoft Success by Design / governance frameworks

6. Stakeholder & Business Alignment

• Act as trusted advisor to Finance, Operations, and IT leadership
• Translate business strategy into ERP roadmap
• Support:
  • Steering committees
  • Executive reviews
  • Business process alignment

7. Governance & Continuous Improvement

• Define and enforce:
  • Architecture standards
  • DevOps / release management
  • Data governance
• Drive continuous system optimization and enhancements
• Ensure system readiness for:
  • Automation
  • Analytics
  • Future scalability

Required Skills & Experience:

• 10–15+ years in ERP (Dynamics AX / D365 F&O preferred)
• 5+ years in architecture or techno‑functional lead roles
• Experience delivering large-scale enterprise implementations

Core D365 F&O Expertise

• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O)
  • Core finance and supply chain modules
• Deep understanding of ERP architecture and business processes

Technical Skills

• Integration experience with:
  • APIs, middleware (e.g., MuleSoft or equivalent)
  • Azure services / cloud architecture
• Knowledge of:
  • Data entities, DMF, batch processing
  • X++, extensions, customization patterns
• Experience with reporting tools (Power BI, SSRS)

Functional Skills

• Strong domain knowledge in:
  • Finance (GL, AP, AR, Costing)
  • Procurement / Supply Chain
• Ability to perform:
  • Fit-gap analysis
  • Process mapping
  • Functional solution design

Leadership & Soft Skills

• Strong stakeholder management & communication
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional global teams
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
