Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering Manager

Lead Electronics Innovation for Next-Generation Semiconductor Metrology

£65,000 - £83,000 + EMI Share Options + Private Healthcare + Hybrid Working

Would you enjoy leading the electronics and instrumentation capability behind technology that is helping semiconductor manufacturers push the limits of what is physically possible?

Infinitesima develops world-leading metrology solutions used by some of the most advanced semiconductor organisations in the world. Supported by Applied Ventures and backed by a growing global customer base, we're scaling rapidly and investing heavily in our engineering capability.

We're looking for an experienced Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for the precision measurement, signal acquisition and instrumentation systems at the heart of our products.

This is a rare opportunity to combine:

  • Technical leadership
  • People leadership
  • Semiconductor technology
  • Precision instrumentation
  • Hands-on engineering

You'll influence both engineering strategy and product direction while remaining close enough to the technology to solve complex technical challenges when needed.

Why Join Infinitesima?

You'll be working on technology that matters

Our products enable the development of next-generation semiconductor devices, supporting advances in computing, communications, AI and high-performance electronics.

You'll have genuine influence

This is not a maintenance management role. You'll help shape the future direction of our instrumentation platforms, engineering standards and technical roadmap.

You'll lead talented engineers

You'll support, mentor and develop a highly capable electronics and instrumentation team whilst helping attract the next generation of engineering talent.

You'll grow with us

We're already over 100 employees and continuing to scale as demand for our technology increases globally.

  • Establishing engineering standards and best practice

Delivering world-class measurement performance

  • Designing and reviewing precision measurement systems
  • Ensuring signal integrity across complex instrumentation platforms
  • Optimising power delivery, grounding and noise performance
  • Supporting measurement validation and system characterisation

Collaborating across engineering disciplines

  • Working closely with optics, controls, software, systems and mechanical engineering teams
  • Supporting successful project delivery from concept through to production
  • Driving technical decision-making across multidisciplinary programmes

What We're Looking For

You'll likely have gained experience in environments such as:

  • Semiconductor equipment
  • Semiconductor metrology
  • Scientific instrumentation
  • Precision measurement systems
  • Test and measurement
  • Photonics
  • Advanced manufacturing equipment
  • Capital equipment development

Essential Experience

  • Leadership of electronics or instrumentation engineering teams
  • Analogue and mixed-signal electronics design
  • PCB design and signal integrity
  • Precision measurement and sensor systems
  • Low-noise amplifier design and selection
  • ADC and DAC architecture and implementation
  • Signal generation, conditioning and acquisition
  • Power distribution and grounding within sensitive systems
  • Product lifecycle management and engineering change control
  • Cross-functional engineering leadership

Highly Desirable

  • Semiconductor metrology systems
  • Semiconductor capital equipment
  • Precision positioning systems
  • Piezo drive systems
  • EMC and environmental considerations
  • Frequency domain analysis
  • Instrumentation simulation and PCB design tools
  • NPI and manufacturing support
