Role overview
As an Engine Overhaul Manager, you will play a critical leadership role within the Emirates Engineering Maintenance Centre (EEMC), overseeing engine overhaul operations and ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, operational performance, and cost efficiency. You will lead and develop teams of engineers and technicians, ensuring maintenance and overhaul activities are effectively planned, organised, and technically supported to achieve business objectives.
In this role you will:
- Take overall accountability for gate or operational turnaround time (TAT), cost, safety, compliance, and the functional and disciplinary leadership of employees within the assigned process.
- Lead, coach, and guide teams of technicians and engineers to ensure maintenance and overhaul activities are efficiently planned, organised, and technically supported.
- Forecast future operational requirements and ensure appropriate resources and provisions are in place to enable timely completion of work while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Manage operations through a robust KPI framework covering operational, financial, safety, and compliance performance.
- Proactively identify, address, and escalate issues that may impact turnaround times, cost performance, or safety outcomes.
- Monitor adherence to all applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, taking immediate action on any deviations in accordance with internal procedures.
- Conduct regular audits of operational processes to ensure ongoing compliance with organisational and regulatory standards.
- Ensure that industry best practice is being applied and continuous improvement efforts are being carried out and implemented.
- Set clear objectives for team members, providing regular coaching, feedback, and performance follow-up.
- Ensure staff are appropriately trained and qualified in accordance with OEM requirements and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate closely with product managers and key stakeholders to effectively manage operational disruptions and maintain business continuity.
Qualification
To be considered for this role you must meet the below requirements:
- Degree in aeronautical, mechanical, or engineering discipline, or equivalent qualification.
- B1 aircraft maintenance licence or engine certifying staff (C/S) authorisation is preferred.
- Minimum 8 years' experience in engineering and maintenance environments.
- Extensive MRO experience, preferably within power plant or engine overhaul operations.
- Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or senior leadership position.
